History

The 722 GT has flared wheel arches, bigger vents, re-profiled front grill area and massive rear wing to enhance what is already a very powerful looking car. It has DPR to make this car enabled for Digital use.
SCCA Pro Racing Speed World Challenge GT Series. TRG Motorsports. Driver: S Pumpelly, No.71 . The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren debuted in the U.S. SCCA competition in 2010 at the Speed World Challenge GT Championship with a 10th place in the first race at Road Atlanta.

TRG Motorsports and Circle B Motorcars of Texas ran the No. 71 Circle B Motorcars Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 GT. It has a supercharged Mercedes V8 engine capable of producing 680 hp, but the car ran in the World Challenge GT series with a restricted 550-hp V8 engine developed by Ray Mallock Limited in England. The car was designed and built by RML, in accordance with McLaren Technology, and is a limited-edition racer, with only 15 in existence.

The carbon fibre grand tourismo body design and the classical styling elements from the legendary SLR racing cars of the 1950’s are blended with the sophisticated design of both the latest Mercedes-Benz passenger car models and of the silver arrows race cars. With its high performance 5.5 litre V8 supercharged engine this dynamic machine can accelerate to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds, reach 180 mph in just 28.8 seconds and go on to a top speed of 207mph. Taking much of its aerodynamic design and cutting edge technology from Formula One, the SLR is one of the fastest road going sports cars.

The Scalextric car
The SLR heralds a welcome re-introduction of a road-going ‘super car’ to the Scalextric range since the Lamborghini Diablo, Ferrari F40 and Jaguar XJ220. The performance balance of this car is superb and you will want to race it at top speed. It stunning good looks have been captured in the Scalextric model with the highest accuracy with fantastic attention to detail around the front grills, wheels and overall body shape.
